Choosing Her Own Path
One of the things Political Science major Sarah Wood, enjoys most about 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× is the flexibility and guidance the university provides to create her own path. That opportunity, she says, gives students the freedom to explore interests, discover passions and gain experience through the courses they choose or their involvement with campus organizations.
At 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, I'm able to pick from a really broad number of electives courses that I think would be most relevant to what I want to do in the future.
So far, Wood, an Honors student, has chosen paths that have led her to research the number of women appointed to public boards and commissions by Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo as part of her Gender in Politics course, and to travel to Montreal and Washington D.C. to take part in Model United Nations and Model Arab League conferences with university students from across the country and around the world, as a member of the International Relations Organization. Sarah also traveled with a group of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× faculty and students to Ireland to study environmental issues and travel writing.
