91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×/91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Cooperative Committee Accepting Grant Applications From Local Groups, Individuals

Current funding cycle will award approximately $12,500 to projects that enhance the 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× community.

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Town of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×/Roger Williams University Cooperative Committee is accepting applications for grant requests from local groups and individuals leading projects to enhance civic and community life in 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×, with particular attention to populations who may be typically underserved.

Since its launch in 2007, the Fund for Civic Activities has distributed $406,331 to fund 255 projects that have impacted thousands of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× residents. These community initiatives have focused on the arts, social services, education, the environment and more. 

The committee accepts applications twice a year, and 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× will award about $12,500 in this funding cycle.

Throughout the years, the fund has awarded grants to:

  • Community String Project for musical instruments and scholarships.
  • 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Blooms for the creation and maintenance of flowers in the downtown area.
  • 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Police Department for community outreach and safety initiatives.
  • East Bay Food Pantry for weekend, summer and mobile grocery and nutrition programs.
  • Town of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Emergency Dialer program, providing dialers and batteries to seniors.
  • 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Health Equity Zone for Recovery Rally celebration and diabetes prevention programs. 
  • Linden Place for the National Black Doll Museum of History and Culture exhibit.

Town of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×/Roger Williams University Cooperative Committee is comprised of six representative leaders from the Town of 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× and six representatives from 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ×. The committee reviews proposals and makes recommendations for final approval to the 91º£½ÇÂÒÂ× Town Administrator and the President of Roger Williams University.
